Differentiation Introduction
Differentiation is an operation used on a given function f(x) to produce a derived function f'(x). This derived function or derivative with respect to x is used to find further solutions in particular math applications. Let's check out the basic rule.
If f(x) = 2x3, then   f'(x) = 6x2. What we have done is an operation in two steps. First, the index 3 in f(x) is used to multiply 2 to get 6. Next, 1 is subtracted from the same index 3 to get 2. The derivative f'(x) is therefore 6x2. The derivative of a constant such as 4 is 0 and that of x with respect to x is 1.
